Apple this year on 13th October 2020 unveiled their iPhone 12 lineup including 4 new iPhones. The event was named as 'Hi, Speed' due to their inclusion of 5g modem chips and there new A14 Bionic chip in all of their iPhone 12 series. The entire event was pre-recorded from Apple Headquarters. The event was quite fascinating at least in the early phase, let's wait for the proper unboxing and Hands-on review.

The new iPhone 12 comprises of 4 models namely:

iPhone mini (Price - $699/ INR - 69,900)

iPhone 12 (Price - $799/ INR - 79,900)

iPhone 12 pro (Price - $999/ INR - 1,19,900)

iPhone 12 pro max (Price - $1099/ INR - 1,29,900)

But sadly even after having there own store in India the price of their product compared to USD is far more.

Design changes

This year Apple has decided to ditch there curve edge and instead opt for there iPhone 4/4s kind of flat square edges. The square design was well accepted in earlier time however it acceptence varies from person to person . Personally i have no issue i think it make easy for holding the phone and give us better screen reachability. However, all this doesn't matter in case you use back case.

now what differentiate iPhone 12, 12 mini with 12 pro model is the build quality, iPhone 12 and 12 mini has aluminium frame and has glossy glass back, while the Pro models have Stainless steel and ceramic shield.

Colour Options

iPhone 12 and 12 mini come in white, black, blue, green and (Product) Red, of which blue and green are new. Each of the colour are very pale in nature the product Red phone this time looks somewhat peachy in colour.

The iPhone 12 pro & pro max has Silver, gold, Graphite and Pacific blue. This time Graphite which is guess replaces space grey and Pacific blue are new ones to look for.

Display

Compared to Earlier models this time Apple iPhone display size has increased significantly and has targeted every screen segment ranging from 5.4inch to 6.7inch.

There are few changes in Display quality as compared to earlier iPhone 11 models, this time all have OLED display even in the non pro models and Pixel density of each model is 458ppi and higher. The bezel size has also been reduced significantly.

iPhone 12 pro max - 6.7inch has 458ppi

iPhone 12 pro - 6.1inch has 460ppi

iPhone 12 - 6.1 inch has 460ppi

iPhone 12 mini - 5.4 inch has 476ppi

Network connectivity -

This year all the 4 models are equipped with 5g capabilities. However the faster 5g millimeter wave is switched automatically so as to conserve battery. Apple boasted that this year iPhone 12 models are highest network bands ever in any smartphone.

Cameras

Apple cameras are every year get better and better, this year they changed the lense and also inclusion of LiDAR will help in AR as well as depth detection and faster auto focus for portrait mode even in night time. Smart HDR 3 is there this time. This time Apple decided to include smart HDR on front camera too.

Processor -

All new iPhone 12 models come with unbeatable A14 Bionic chip, it's a 5 nm chip with more advanced and efficient. Apple claims that the CPU performs up to 40% faster than the A12 (16% faster than the A13), while the GPU is up to 30% faster than the A12. It also includes a 16-core neural engine and new machine learning matrix accelerators that performs twice and ten times as fast.

Accesories -

Apple has this time decided to ditch the super slow 5w usb adapter stating environmental concern. so this time you only get handset, cable, paperwork and one apple sticker.
